WHAT I LIKE ABOU THIS PRINT … What do I like about this print? Three words. Magenta. Lokta. Paper. When I laid eyes on this gorgeous paper from Nepal I knew I had to print something with it. Magenta led to flowers and flowers led to dahlias, as my wife grows them and there might even still be some blooming in the yard as you read this. But as gorgeous as they are in late summer, they stress her out for the rest of the year. All winter there is the worry the storage area is too warm. Or too cool. Or too dry. Or too wet. And then the planting, etc. etc. That is what is behind the title. My dahlias stay beautiful year round. And you can just hang them on the wall and forget about them. But you won’t. You’ll want too look at them over your coffee on deep winter day and remember summer—they will whisper stories of summer, just like the little mouse Frederick from the self-titled children’s book.
